In January of 2009, Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), the world leader in GIS, recognized Positron with the ESRI Partner of the Year 2009 Award. Past winners include Chevron Pipe Line Company, United Nation Development, and Geological Survey of Austria. Positron is proud to be in such esteemed company and proud to provide the 9-1-1 industry with life saving GIS-based services. Positron is the only ESRI partner in the public safety industry to receive such an honor this year.

The award is a result of a concentrated effort between Positron and ESRI that has been years in the making. Using ESRI technology, Positron has fully integrated the extensive amount of data into our integrated suite providing a seamless union to utilize ESRI data for public safety needs.

Positron's Power MAP software extensively uses this GIS data to help public safety personnel locate callers and direct emergency responders quickly with pinpoint accuracy.

Each year ESRI recognizes its partner organizations that are advancing and making a difference with geospatial technology, specifically in the areas of solution development, services or sales, and the fostering of ESRI technology into key fields, such as 9-1-1.
